The design process included an extensive consultation with staff, students and parents which arrived at a series of key points for inclusion in the brief:

• A secure and welcoming entrance.

• A simple plan allowing for passive surveillance of students.

• A building section that maximises natural light while allowing natural ventilation.

• Flexible and agile spaces.

• Direct link to the outside from every classroom.

• This project was completed as Project Architect at Architype Architects using a traditional contract.
