Hereford Community Land Trust - Historic Buildings Report

Myself and a colleague, Christian Montez of Montez Architecture, were employed to produce a report identifying buildings and sites within Hereford’s Historic centre that could be transformed into affordable housing and/or community facilities. We assessed the historic core of the city of Hereford, looking at its redundant and underused historic buildings. We then assessed on their condition, historical merit and suitability for conversion into residential dwellings. These sites were then scored providing a top twenty five and highest seven opportunities for potential HCLT involvement. This enabled Hereford Community Land Trust to approach the local council underlining the potential of underused building stock to deal with the local housing shortage.
